After setting the fastest time in Free Practice 1 before dominating the opening qualifying heat, Johan Kristoffersson appeared to have mastered the Mondello Park circuit. A black flag in Q2, however, completely changed the course of his day, leaving the KMS driver down in 13th place in the intermediate standings.
