Kevin Hansen will return to the FIA European Rallycross Championship later this month after being confirmed for the fifth round of the 2026 Euro RX1 season at Lohéac. The former European champion will join PGRX for the event, with backing from Indonesian sports and entertainment company SARGA.CO.

Hansen's entry adds another major name to an already highly anticipated weekend. The French circuit, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, remains one of rallycross' most iconic venues and is expected to welcome another capacity crowd for one of the highlights of the championship.

The Swede arrives with one of the strongest résumés in the paddock. Alongside his FIA European Rallycross Championship title, Hansen finished runner-up in the FIA World Rallycross Championship in both 2023 and 2024 and remains one of the discipline's most successful drivers of the modern era.

His return also marks the end of a remarkable chapter in his career. For the first time in more than a decade, Hansen will compete in a car other than a Peugeot, bringing to a close one of the longest-standing manufacturer partnerships in contemporary rallycross. The Hansen family has been associated with Peugeot—and before that Citroën—for more than 30 years, making the switch one of the most closely watched stories of the 2026 season.

Lohéac is a venue Hansen knows well. The Swedish driver has claimed multiple podium finishes there during his World RX career, including a memorable one-two finish alongside his brother Timmy in 2021. That experience could prove valuable as he returns to Euro RX competition for the first time in several seasons.

His arrival also comes at a pivotal stage of the championship. With the title battle entering its decisive phase, Hansen immediately joins the list of drivers capable of fighting at the front. His experience at the highest level of the sport, combined with his proven pace around Lohéac, makes him one of the standout additions to the Euro RX1 field.

Round 5 of the FIA European Rallycross Championship takes place at Lohéac from 28–30 August. In addition to celebrating five decades of competition at one of rallycross' most historic circuits, the event will welcome back one of the category's biggest names as the fight for the 2026 title intensifies.
