After finishing only 23rd in Free Practice 1, Andreas Bakkerud steadily worked his way back through the order to end the opening day at Mondello Park in third place in the intermediate standings. The Norwegian now trails joint leaders Ole Christian Veiby and Juha Rytkönen by just two points heading into Sunday's final two qualifying heats.
