Former runner-up in the Supercar Lites category, Linus Ostlund confirmed on Wednesday that he would be taking part in the final stage of RallyX, to be held at Holjes from September 1 to 2.

Following on from his impressive performance last July at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta OMSE in the FIA Euro RX1 European Rallycross Championship, the 23-year-old Swede will be aiming to shine on home soil in Varmland with an Audi S1 from the JC Raceteknik team.

After four consecutive campaigns in the Supercar Lites, rewarded by a runner-up position behind Ben-Philip Gundersen in 2019 and a third-place finish in 2021, Linus Ostlund has no fewer than two victories to his name while establishing himself as the second-best performer in RallyX history, with a total of 11 career podiums in the category.

Last July in Sweden, the local hero impressed everyone by completing his qualifications in the Top 5 of the intermediate classification. After setting the third fastest time in free practice, Linus went on to set a career-best third fastest time in Q2. Above all, it was in terms of pure speed that the Swede proved most impressive, setting the second fastest race lap in Q2 and the third fastest race lap in Q3.

This time around, Linus Ostlund will be looking to showcase his skills in Holjes, under the supervision of Joël Christoffersson and the fearsome JC Raceteknik team.

“I’m super excited for this opportunity, says Linus.

"After I did the Euro RX race in Höljes in July I didn’t expect to do any more races this year, but I got an opportunity and some extra help from my brilliant sponsors. To be able to race with such a big team as JC is great, and I hope I can put on some good racing and fight the big guys on track. I’m excited to see what the Audi can do. My hopes are to be able to match the speed of the top guys, and make it to the final. Then as we know in rallycross, anything can happen!”
