FIA World Rallycross Championship driver Klara Andersson has confirmed her entry for the flagship round of the French Rallycross Championship, which will take place from August 29 to 31.
Crowned Swedish champion in 2021 in the competitive 2150cc category—featuring over 50 drivers—Andersson made her World RX debut in 2022 with the CE Dealer Team alongside Niclas Grönholm.
She has also competed in Extreme E with ABT/Cupra and Sun Minimeal, racing alongside motorsport icons such as Nasser Al-Attiyah, Sébastien Loeb, and Timo Scheider.
With three podium finishes in World RX and a pole position secured at Höljes in 2024, Andersson will join the PGRX squad at Lohéac, where she will drive the Hyundai i20 usually raced by Juha Rytkönen in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Klara Andersson // World RX driver for CE Dealer Team
"I’ve always dreamed of racing at Lohéac. I first came here back in 2017 when my sister [Magda Andersson, the only woman in history to earn a vice-champion title in the FIA European Rallycross Championship – ed.] was driving for Marklund Motorsport, and I immediately felt how unique the atmosphere and fan passion were. I returned last year to support my World RX teammate Niclas Grönholm, and that only strengthened my determination to one day be on the starting grid. This upcoming race is a fantastic opportunity—and a true first for me—as I’ve only ever driven the 680-horsepower electric RX1e until now. Discovering the petrol-powered Hyundai i20 will be a completely new experience."
"From handling the sequential gearbox, to the overall feeling behind the wheel and managing launches, I’ll have a lot to take in. But it’s a challenge I find truly exciting. The PGRX team has already given me such a warm welcome—the atmosphere is incredibly positive. My goal that weekend will be to adapt as quickly as possible to the Hyundai i20, build confidence, and hopefully aim for a strong result. It’s a big step, but I’m ready to give it everything."
Patrick Guillerme // Team Principal PGRX Team
"When Klara visited Lohéac last year with Jussi Pinömäki and Niclas Grönholm, we were already discussing the possibility of her racing the Hyundai i20 at this event. The idea quickly gained traction, and a few months later, we were in a position to make it happen. Patrick Germain and the Lohéac organizing committee immediately supported the project. Klara brings a fantastic image to Rallycross and carries real international recognition from her time in major series."
"We’re proud to welcome a driver of Klara’s stature to PGRX. She’s living proof that women can win at the highest level of motorsport. She’s a source of inspiration for future generations, while remaining incredibly approachable. Having her with us at Lohéac will be an honor. It’s a first for our team—but hopefully not the last."
